Mike Parry writes... "Most frequent guest on a Thursday, but usually during school holidays or if his breadknife lets him out (henpecked !?!?). Limited capacity for ale, 2 pints and he falls over/asleep. Also good at quizzes (pub or otherwise). Useful at childrens' parties for organising games etc... A great lover of board games. A particular favourite is called 'Kingmaker', which is an excessively complicated strategy game which Ian always wins 'cos his opponents usually fall asleep because of boredom/too much ale. Ian likes to win at competitions. Examples..... At scout camp (he used to be a scoutleader) one contest was to see whose torch could shine the furthest. The scouts went first, each one having a further shining beam. Then Ian pulls his out - 2 feet of shiny black aluminium. When he won you would have thought that he had won gold at the Olympics ! The point is he has no shame, even winning against a bunch of snotty nosed kids makes him feel like a champion."
