The Brook
The Boys' final Sale haunt, and an unusual example of a pub nearest the station NOT being the worst in the district. The Brook is actually built into the back of Brooklands Metrolink station, which is just as well seeing how Steve and Mike J have to get the tram there every week. Lees bitter and lagers only, and unfortunately no Drambuie, leading to last orders dilemmas. However, for a while The Brook was a massive hit with the boys thanks to serving a reasonable pint, and the enormous patience of Anne-Marie the landlady and Charlotte the barmaid, both of whom deserved medals. Recently tastefully renovated, and mercifully free of quizzes and discos (on a Thursday at least). Hot and cold running West Highland Terrier. Good shamrock on the Guinness. Unfortunately, there’s only so much Lees a chap can drink, and the Boys eventually fled to Altrincham.
